Comments on: WineBottler 1.1.34 [updated]

After reading through Mr. Mike Kronenberg’s blog, I learned that the reason for the sha1 failure, of course, is due to the fact that Adobe has rapid updates for flash. It would be great if WineBottler could maintain a more up to date hash keys for installation files.

However, as per Mike’s blog, I removed flash from the IE6 Bottler, which was fairly easy to do by opening ‘sudo nano /Applications/WineBottler.app/Contents/Resources/ie6Win98.sh’ and finding this line:

export WINETRICKS_ITEMS=”nocrashdialog dcom98 msls31 riched20 mfc42 win98 flash”

and replacing it with

export WINETRICKS_ITEMS=”nocrashdialog dcom98 msls31 riched20 mfc42 win98″

(In other words, just take flash out)
Just incase, I actually commented out hte first line by adding a ‘#’ before it… and then adding a duplicate line (minus the flash).

Everything worked, and IE6 is running on Mac OS X with 1.1.44 Wine Bottler on mac os x 10.6.4 snow leopard on oct 3.

regarding my previous comment — I had an old copy of sha1sum executable in /usr/local/bin and after moving it out of the way, the install got farther but got stopped by the flash error reported in an earlier comment in this thread

I am having serious issues trying to run DDO using this. can someone tell me what i need to enable to run the file? (ddostandard.exe) Thanks. v]Every time I try to open it, I get an error message.

There where was a SHA1 missmatch for the flash plugin for ie6. This should be fixed soon.

When I use the command

open /Applications/ArdourXchange.app/Contents/MacOS/WineBottlerStarter args

My exe can’t path correctly.

The files /Users/bbergstrom/z:/Users/bbergstrom/axctest/100_BARS.aaf and
/Users/bbergstrom/z:/Users/bbergstrom/Ardour
Sessions/100_BARS/100_BARS.ardour do not exist.

The working directory I run it from gets prefixed to my wine z:/ paths. Any idea why this is?

I will try the start wine script again and set the $WINEPREFIX.
