HP 32SII RPN SCIENTIFICI hope You enjoyed Christmas eve as I did. I somehow managed to get around all the hassle and lay hands on a iTouch 🙂 - What a gadget!

As I'm a big fan of RPN, You can imagine that I was not exactly happy with the integrated calculator. So I started to code a webapp-replica of the HP 32S II. Having me served well over nearly two decades, the 32S II is still a trusted companion of mine.

Basic functionality is now finished, but it still lacks key features like menus, programming and equitation solving :). I think my old HP will remain on my desk for some more years.

If You want to give it a swirl (iPhone, iTouch or Safari 3.0 needed): www.kronenberg.org/rpn
for iPhone/iTouch users, You might like this shorter domain alias: www.kberg.ch/rpn 🙂

Link to Original HP Page. - enjoy! Mike

ies4osx will become ies4mac

after a troublesome but none the less joyfull weekend, finally some other good news:

Sérgio Luís Lopes Júnior, the father of ies4linux has included all the OS X fixes from ies4osx into ies4linux. He is about to include a platform-independent GUI and some more features.
This way, Mac people are going to instantly profit from all the improvements to ies4linux and it's big user-base. I hope I do not spill to many beans by saying there will be a new forum to exchange problems and how you tackled problems you encountered.

I will continue to help with the project, as I joined the development of ies4linux.

As stated, ies4linux 2.99 is commandline only, yet. I'm looking forward to the first GUI release.

Provider Mayhem [updated]

just to inform:

My provider promised "unlimited traffic", but they took my site offline.
I'm looking for a new way to distribute Darwine now.

Yes that means no Darwine downloads for the moment.

Thanks to Takumi and Jay I can provide two mirrors for now! Thank You very much!

ies4osx 2.5beta6_4 [updated 2]

First,
let me thank You for all the feedback, bugreports and suggestions! I really appreciate it.
ies4osx had a little more exposure than usual during the last days. It showed that loads of people moved on to Leopard, what led to some frustration, as darwine an thus ies4osx was not working as expected.

Now with Darwine 0.9.49 Darwine 0.9.49_2 and ies4osx 2.5beta6_4 I hope I can better serve that need. Sorry, still no PPC solution (if You are interested, You should bug this guy).

Please note, both are still in very early stages for Leopard... so please tell me if it works for you. The whole setup is NOT tested on Tiger as stated in the last post.

Two request that where made more than one time:

  • use the wrapper of ies4osx to install other Windows Applications as .app packages (gives me some headaches on how to define the desired executable after installation 😉 )
  • install interesting windows components similar to Dan Kegels winetricks.

enjoy
Mike

[Update]
As I feared, this Darwine-x86-0.9.49 is only working on Leopard atm. Users of Tiger should use Darwine-x86-0.9.48 for now.

[Update 2]
Here is a new .49 Darwine Build, that works for me on Tiger and Leopard:
